There is a revolution taking place in higher education that is changing the traditional classroom into a learning space. The use of straight lecture has been questioned for some time and research has shown active learning techniques to be far more effective. As faculty begin to embrace the more effective techniques, they are finding it difficult to find a classroom that will support their needs. Many of the traditional classroom designs need to be replaced with physical arrangements that allow faculty to use these more effective techniques. This workshop will look at new approaches to learning spaces at institutions around the country and look at effective spaces for the current learning techniques.
